Student Data Analysis

While students watch the live stream of the lecture, they will be able to take notes on the presentation.  Based on these notes, the goal is to extract the most salient portions of the lecture and place them into a short (~5 to 10 minutes) video that is easy to review before a midterm or final.

Lecturer Tracking and Gesture Recognition

Currently the goal is to capture the lecture content – what is on the lecturer’s laptop screen and their annotations.  However, a major aspect of the lecture that is lost if only these two things are captured are the lecturer’s gestures while giving the presentation.  In the future we are planning on using a Kinect to either track the lecturer and capture video of them, or going a step further and extracting their actual gestures to overlay onto the presentation.
